St. Augustine To Hold Fourth Annual Bottle Drive For Those In Need
Old Orchard Beach, Maine - June 11, 2014
St. Augustine of Canterbury Anglican Church has announced that it will hold its fourth annual bottle drive on Saturday, July 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 156 Saco Ave. (Route 5), Cathedral Pines Chapel parking lot. Proceeds from the drive will be used to benefit the homeless and others in need. At this time of year, specific items such as socks, flip-flops and sunscreen are in demand but often overlooked by donors. Funds will be used to purchase essential items for those in need. The bottle drive is part of the on-going bottle drive held by the parish.
This will be St. Augustine's fourth annual bottle drive and proceeds have been used to build a strong community outreach program. The parish donates needed items such as socks and toiletries to the homeless, provides backpacks filled with school supplies to the local homeless students, supports the Saco Food Pantry and holds a Bikes for Foster Children project each Christmas.
St. Augustine of Canterbury has a vibrant and growing congregation and is a member of the Anglican Church in America and the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion and remains faithful to the Holy Bible and worships according to the traditional Book of Common Prayer.
The parish worships the Cathedral Pines Chapel located at 156 Saco Ave. in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The Reverend Deacon Allen Ryan presides over the parish. For information call 229-8700.
